Arcana Famiglia Stage Play's New Cast Visual Unveiled
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
The official website for La storia della Arcana Famiglia Valentino, the stage play adaptation of the La storia della Arcana Famiglia video game, revealed a new visual of the play's main cast in costume on Tuesday.
In addition, the website revealed that Takeshi Masu will play the role of Mondo.
The previously announced cast includes:
Miyu Nakata as Felicità
Ryo Oshima as Libertà
Shōichirō Oumi as Nova
Kentarō Menjō as Debito
Ryō Kobayashi as Pace
Kento Kitamura as Luca
Ryōhei Shioguchi as Jolly
The play will feature an original story where the Arcana Famiglia members will participate in a contest to find the Regalo Island's #1 "Bellissimo." The winner of the "Arcana Bellissimo in Valentino" contest will be able to receive a kiss from Felicità. However, behind the scenes, a shadowy figure is observing the contest.
Miyako Yasoshima (live-action Boku no Ita Jikan, Beautiful Rain TV series) is directing the play. The stage play will run for 10 performances between January 20-27 at the Owl Spot theater in the Toshima Performing Arts Center in Tokyo. Tickets cost between 6,000-8,500 yen (about US$49-69) depending on the seat.
The original game's story follows Arcana Famiglia, a self-appointed organization with mysterious powers that has protected a small Mediterranean island from pirates, foreign countries, and other threats. The only daughter of the family's "Papa," Felicitá, will be married to the next head of the family in two months — and the successor will be decided in a competition that Felicitá herself will take part in.
The franchise originated in HuneX (VitaminX Addiction) and Comfort Soft's adventure game for female players in 2011. The first game has sold over 50,000 copies and spawned two 2012 spinoffs called Vascello Phantasma no Majutsushi and Festa Regalo, as well as a full Arcana Famiglia 2 sequel in 2013.
The franchise also inspired a television anime in 2012. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks released the anime on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in 2013.
The original game received a PlayStation Vita port in December.
