Elex Media Licenses The Book of List, Evil Eater Manga

Both manga's 1st volumes slated for Wednesday

Indonesian publisher Elex Media Komputindo announced on Monday that it has licensed Izuco Fujiya's The Book of List - Grimm's Magical Items (Kataribe no List) manga, and Issei Eifuku and Kojino's Evil Eater manga. The company will publish the first volumes of both manga on Wednesday.

The Book of List centers on Akitsune, a chronically lazy high school student. He mistakenly retrieves the wrong bag on the train on the way to school, and finds an antique watch inside. As it turns out, the bag belongs to a girl named List, and the watch can control time itself. It is only one of many "Dusts," magical items containing fairytale souls that each grant the antique a magical ability.

Fujiya launched the manga in Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Sirius magazine in 2011, and ended it in 2013. Kodansha published the manga's sixth and final compiled book volume in January 2014.

Evil Eater is set in a modern-day Japan where magic co-exists with science and law. Spells that allow the dead to be brought back to life exist, and the law sometimes uses this to punish a criminal by using his or her life to revive a victim. These resurrected victims, so-called "Returners," do not return unscathed. They are in constant danger of being consumed by emotion, and can themselves turn into dangerous monsters. The story centers on Nagumo Kento, a mage with the ability to draw out evil. He partners with rookie Amagi Yoko, who possesses the ability to consume the evil that Nagumo draws out. Together, they work to give Returners a second shot at life.

Eifuku and Kojino launched the manga in Shogakukan's Sunday GX magazine in 2011, and ended it in 2013. Shogakukan published three compiled book volumes for the series.
